FAP ACROBOND AR

FAP ACROBOND AR

Acrylic Polymer  Based Bonding Agent

FAP ACROBOND AR is a single component; acrylic polymer based bonding agent. Used as bonding agent between new concrete and old concrete & additive for repair mortars, renders, screed, plaster, etc. FAP BOND AR improves durability, compressive, tensile and flexural properties of modified mixes whilst reducing permeability, making it suitable for horizontal or vertical applications both internally and externally, including areas subject to wet / dry cycling or permanent immersion.

Advantages

  • Excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates.
  • Suitable for use in internal and external applications.
  • As an admixture - dramatically increases durability, moisture resistance, adhesion, and curing

Instruction for use

The surface should be clean, sound and free of dirt, oil, grease, paint, curing compounds and form release agents. All loose materials and deteriorated concrete should be removed. For increased performance, concrete surfaces should first be abraded using sandblasting, shot blasting or other mechanical means.

Priming:

The cleaned substrate must be fully soaked with clean water prior to priming. The ideal condition is saturated surface dry (SSD). Brush FAP ACROBOND well into the concrete surface; ensure complete coverage but no ponding. Use as supplied and do not dilute with water. Apply the repair mortar or screed whilst the primer is still tacky. If the  primer becomes dry reapply as directed above.

Coverage

Coverage varies according to the application:

As a curing aid: 4-5 m2 per liter.

As a bonding agent: 6-8 m2per litre.

As an admixture: 10 liters/ 50 kg OPC.

Curing Aid: When used for curing FAP ACROBOND AR can be brush or spray applied. Always cover repaired areas to protect from drying winds and excessive heat. In extreme conditions water ponding will also be required

Packaging & Storage.

FAP ACROBOND is supplied in 20 LTR & 5 LTR units and it has a minimum shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored under cover, out of direct sunlight.
