FAP ACROCOTE

FAP ACROCOTE

ACROCOTE is a two part acrylic polymer modified elastomeric water proof membrane which consists of acrocote powder and acrocote acrylic emulsion. Acrocote can simply be applied by a stiff brush, or trowel to obtain the desired thickness. Acrocte provides a seamless, waterproof coating suitable for use in water tanks, reservoirs, swimming pools, roofs and to ensure water tightness.

Application

ACROCOTE supplied as Part A and Part B. Part B to be poured in to a clean container. Slowly add the powder to the liquid and mix using a slow speed drilling machine fitted with a suitable paddle. Do not mix more material that can be used with in one hour. The appearance of the coat will be a creamy, which can be applied with a brush. Apply the first layer with sufficient thickness to cover the holes, cracks, etc. The approximate consumption will be 1 kg/m2.Once the first coat is dry, apply second coat in order to achieve the required thickness at an average consumption rate of 700g-1kg/m2.It is recommended that each coat should be a minimum of 1 mm thickness.

Advantages

  • Minimum surface preparation needed – low labour costs.
  • Super flexibility and elongation.
  • High strength of bond, highly adhesive, excellent in whole waterproof.
  • Easy application on all kinds of surfaces.
  • Excellent for concrete roof, leaking bricks and masonary wall.
  • Good resistance to carbon dioxide and chloride ion diffusion.
  • Non toxic and ideal for potable water tanks.
  • Excellent adhesion – bonds to porous and non porous surfaces.
  • Allows water vapour to escape from the structure.
  • Provide foundation protection.

Properties

  • Pot life @ 200 C : 1 Hour.
  • @ 350 C : 20 min.
  • Mixed Density : 1.8 kg/ltr.
  • Color : Grey and white.
  • Toxicity : Non – toxic.

Surface Preparation

The entire surface which are to receive ACROCOTE must be free from oil, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter which might affect adhesion. The support to be treated should be thoroughly wet prior to application.

Coverage

Consumption of Acrocote depending on the substrate’s texture, porosity, ambient temperature, etc. Approximate coverage will be around 1.8 kg/m2 @ 1 mm thickness

Packing and Storage

Acrocote is supplied in 20 kg unit as A Part and B Part and it has minimum shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored under cover, out of direct sunlight.
