Latex Modified Bonding Agent for Cementitious Mortar

FAP CERMOLATEX is latex modified additive, for use with Portland cement to form high strength mortars for the installation of all types of Ceramic, Mosaic, Quarry & Marble Tiles. It is also suitable for producing modified tile grouts, renders &primer coats. FAP CERMOLATEX is a synthetic emulsion containing fungicides and hydrophilic additives.

Surface Preparation

As with all bonding materials surface preparation is of paramount importance. Remove all laitance, oil, grease, mould oil, curing compound, leaving an open textured surface. Damp down the surface prior to application of FAP CERMOLATEX modified mortars, ensuring surface is damp, but no free water is visible.

Mixing

All mixing should be carried out in a forced action mixer. Charge the mixer with the correct quantity of sand and cement, and premix for one minute. Pour in the desired quantity of FAP CERMOLATEX (premixed with water if necessary), and mix for 2 to 3 minutes. Do not over mix. Protect mixed material from wind & sun.

Thin bed fixing of wall and floor

Tiles

  • 50 kg of cement (fresh).
  • 50 kg medium grade sand.
  • FAP CERMOLATEX 10 liters.
  • Water - It is normally found that a 1 / 1 dilution of FAP CERMOLATEX with water will prove suitable.Yield approximately 50 liters of mortar. Materials should be mixed until a thick paste is formed.

Thick bed fixing

  • Fresh cement 50 kg.
  • 150 kg of medium grade sand.
  • FAP CERMOLATEX 10 liters.it may be necessary to add water to achieve the desired consistency dependent upon type of sand utilized.

Health & Safety

As with all chemical products, caution should always be exercised. Protective Clothing, Such as gloves and goggle, should be worn. Should any of the products be accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomit but call for medical assistance immediately. Ensure the container is available for the medical attendant to examine any relevant instructions and contents details. Reseal all containers after use and ensure product is stored as instructed on the safety section of the labeling
